Sally A. Paddock, 78, passed away peacefully early Friday morning.
She was born March 16, 1946, in Alexandria Bay, NY, daughter of Robert G. and Aline C. Amyot Decker.
She graduated from Hammond High School in 1964, from Potsdam College in 1968, and then went on to finish her master’s degree from Potsdam.
She married Frederick Paddock on September 6, 1969, in Hammond, NY.
Sally taught elementary education all of her career. She taught at Harrisville, Alexandria Bay, and Morristown, for a time. The majority of her career was spent teaching at Hammond Central School, retiring in 2000. After retiring from her teaching career Sally worked part time as a legal secretary until 2016.
She is survived by her husband, Fred, a son Ian and his companion, Melody Morrison, Phoenix, NY and five brothers, George (Sue) Decker, West Gardiner, ME, Fr. Robert Decker, Adams, NY, Fr. Douglas Decker, Lowville, NY, Lyndon (Judy) Decker, Homer, NY, and Steven (Angela) Decker, Adams, NY, one grandchild Victoria VanSlyke (Marco Fontanarosa) and one great grandchild (Aurelia Fontanarosa), and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated April 25th at 11am, at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, Alexandria Bay. Burial will follow at Rarick Cemetery, South Hammond. A celebration of life reception will be announced in the summer of 2024.
Memorial donations may be made in Sally’s name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or American Diabetes Association.
