Robert C. "Bud" Dingman, 84, of Middle Road, LaFargeville, NY, passed away Friday, March 31st at Carthage Area Hospital SNF.
Bud was born in Alexandria Bay, NY on August 6, 1932, the son of John and Bernice Patience Dingman. He attended Alexandria Bay Schools and then entered the United States Marines serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was a welder for Frink America, Clayton and then he worked as a ticket salesman for Uncle Sam Boat
Tours, Alexandria Bay, after his retirement. Bud married Alice Davis Cuthbertson on July 6, 1985 at the LaFargeville Methodist Church. A previous marriage ended in divorce.
He was a member of the Alexandria Bay American Legion for 61 years and was a former commander of
the Alexandria Bay VFW.
Besides his wife, Alice, Bud is survived by his sons Robert, Robbie and partner Diane, and Ronnie and
Mary Dingman all of Mobile, Alabama, his step-sons and their wives, Robert & Catherine Cuthbertson and
Floyd & Anna Cuthbertson, of LaFargeville, his sister Geraldine and Butch Terry, and 9 grandchildren, 12
great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, and 7 step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A son,
Randy, one great-grandchild and 4 brothers pre-deceased him.
Calling hours will be held from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, April 5th at Costello Funeral Home in Alexandria
Bay. A memorial service with military honors will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 pm with Pastor
Freddie Webb officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in Bud's name to Carthage Area Hospital SNF.
