Katherine E. Welsh

Katherine E. Welsh, 91, lifelong resident of Alexandria Bay, died Monday June 29, 2015 in Samaritan Summit Village, Watertown. She was born February 18, 1924 in Alexandria Bay, daughter of Theodore and Magdaline White Welsh. She graduated from Alexandria Bay High School. Katherine worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Francis Gillick, and then for many years for Dr. Robert Tague, both of Alexandria Bay. She was active in St. Cyril’s Church, and served on the board of the MacSherry Library. She is survived by two brothers, Richard(Dianna) Welsh, Long Beach, CA and James ”Itcher” (Patricia) Welsh, Alexandria Bay, four sisters, Patricia Welsh, Rochester, NY, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Sheppard, Alexandria Bay, Mrs. Arthur (Virginia) Garza, Hilton, NY, and Mrs. James (Mary) Gaffney, Alexandria Bay, Nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased   by two brothers, Leon and Theodore Welsh and a sister Ida Silver. A funeral mass will be said Friday, July 3 ^rd , at 11:00am at St. Cyril’s Church, with Fr. Douglas Comstock, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Cyril’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Cyril’s Church. Arrangements are with Costello Funeral Service, Alexandria Bay.
