Grover B. "Buddy" Slocum

Alexandria Bay, NY- Grover B. “Buddy” Slocum, 78, passed away Friday, July 24 ^th in Ogdensburg.

He was born March 20, 1942 in Marfa, Texas, son of Grover B. and Ruth Buckley Slocum. He graduated from Alexandria Central High School and attended East Tennessee State University.

He worked as manager of the wooden boat division of Hutchinson’s Boat works in Alexandria Bay.

A marriage to Marcia Garlock ended in divorce.

He is survived by his son Joshua E. Slocum, Lodi, CA, his daughter Doreen J. Slocum, Watertown, NY, a granddaughter, Kennedy, a brother, Michael (Elaine) Georger, Alexandria Bay, sisters Kay Doheney, Alexandria Bay, Jo (Bill) Megan, Redwood, Gayle (Frederick) Ward, Alexandria Bay, Carol (Dick) Terbush, Oak Island, NC and Dorothy Jordan, McKinney, TX. Nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of life reception will be held Saturday, August 1 ^st , from 1-4 pm at the Alexandria Bay American Legion.
