Alexandria Bay, NY – Francis E. “Frank” Dack, 91, passed away Wednesday at Hospice of Jefferson County, in Watertown.
He was born May 2, 1924 in Adams, NY, son of George A. and Marie Peyton Dack. He graduated from Adams High School. Frank served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a prisoner of war in Germany and received many medals for his service. He married Nina O’Donnell in August of 1951. Mrs. Dack died in 1998.
Frank worked as a bartender in both Adams and Alexandria Bay. He worked for AMMEX, on Wellesley Island,
retiring as supervisor. After retirement, he worked part time for the N.Y. State Parks Commission. He was a member of the Alexandria Bay American Legion, Post 904.
He is survived by two sons, Richard and his wife Connie, Redwood, and James Fowler and his wife Margo, Harrisville, NY, three daughters, Nina Dack and her companion Eric Sherbino, Redwood, Mrs. Rusty (Tina) Schultz, Plessis, and Betty Seery, Watertown, a brother, F.V. Dack, and 7 grandchildren. A brother, George A. Dack, Jr., predeceased him.
A calling hour will be held from 1-2 pm Friday, March 18
th
at the Costello Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 2pm. Spring burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Adams.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alexandria Bay United Methodist Church or the Alexandria Bay American Legion.
