Elizabeth A. “Liz” Marcelletta, 71, of Creek Road, passed away early Sunday morning, November 3rd, at her home after a long illness.
She was born April 23, 1953, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of James Ellis Taylor and Mary Lee Taylor.
She earned her LPN certificate through Jefferson-Lewis BOCES.
Liz worked as an LPN for River Hospital and provided home health care to many different patients in the Jefferson County area.
She married her longtime companion, David A. Marcelletta, in Alexandria Bay, NY.
Liz enjoyed gardening. She had an exceptionally green thumb. She generously shared plants with friends and family. She was an accomplished baker; her pumpkin roll was a staple at family gatherings. Liz was a dedicated parent and grandparent. She attended as many sporting and school events as her health allowed. She was very proud of her grandchildren and spoiled them any chance she got. She had a kind heart and was always willing to help others.
Besides her husband, David, she is survived by her son, Jason (Shannon) Marcelletta, Theresa, NY, her daughter, Chandra Collins, Watertown, NY, a sister, Frances Barbo, Atascocita, TX, and seven grandchildren, Brian and Cole Marcelletta, Madison Tierney, Hope, Maryanne, Gavin and Gary Christopher Collins. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Howard Copeland and brother-in-law, Todd Marcelletta.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the charity of one’s choice. (Saint Jude’s, Cancer Research, or Children’s Miracle Network).
