Diane M. Bush

Diane M. Bush, 66, passed away Sunday, August 11th, at Hospice of Jefferson County in Watertown.

She was born January 30, 1958, in Syracuse, NY, daughter of Concetto and Elaine Falso Milazzo. She graduated from Liverpool High School in 1976, SUNY Brockport in 1980, and then from SUNY Cortland, with her master’s degree in physical education.

She married Joseph R. Bush on August 16, 1980, in Liverpool, NY.

Diane served as physical education teacher at Alexandria Central School for 33 years, retiring in 2014. Following retirement, she remained active with the school, serving as an athletic coach, substitute teacher and mentor to teachers and athletic directors. She was an advocate for Coaches vs Cancer. She was known affectionately by her many students and athletes as Coach Bush or Momma B. Diane dedicated many hours to her athletes and loved all things ACS. Besides her purple ghosts, Diane was well known for her love of German Shepards, all things outdoors, and the beautiful St. Lawrence River.

Besides her husband, Joe, she is survived by two daughters, Mackenzie (Greg) Kurtz, Camillus, NY and Jordan Bush, Tallahassee, FL, two brothers, James Milazzo, Cicero, NY and Michael Milazzo, Liverpool, NY and a sister, Kathleen Milazzo, Liverpool, NY.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, August 17th from 2-4 and 7-9, at the Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay. Funeral services will be private.
