Clifford H. Dobbins “Kippy, Poppy”, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Alexandria Bay on February 27th, 2024. His last hours were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Kippy was born in Alexandria Bay, NY and was the oldest son of Harold and Cora Strough-Dobbins. Kippy attended Alexandria Central School and later married Enid “Kim” Harris-Dobbins.
Kippy worked various jobs throughout his lifetime and retired from Frink America at the age of 55 with 30 years of service. After retirement, Kippy enjoyed spending his time at his grandchildren’s school and sporting events. Kippy also spent his winter months in Myrtle Beach, golfing, going out to eat and enjoying drinks with family and friends.
Kippy was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and a long-standing member of the Alex Bay Fire Department. Kippy was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and a great storyteller.
Kippy is survived by his two daughters, Tracy (Jeff) Parzych of Syracuse, NY, and Tori (Glenn) Snyder, of Alexandria Bay. He is survived by his five grandchildren, Ryan (Angie) Loy of Alexandria Bay, NY, Madison (Jonathan) Korcz of Cape Vincent, NY, Molly (Charles) Clemons of Hammond, NY, and Cole and Chase Parzych of Syracuse, NY. Kippy also has six great-grandchildren along with several cousins, a nephew and nieces. Kippy was predeceased by his wife, Enid “Kim” Dobbins, his father and mother, Harold (Cora) Dobbins and his younger brother, Ivan Dobbins.
Kippy’s family would especially like to thank Hospice and his best friend, Gary Hogan, for their weekly visits and unconditional love and care. Kippy was well-known around town and will be missed greatly by many.
A celebration of life reception will be held on Saturday, May 4th from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Alexandria Bay Fire Hall.
