Anthony “Tony” C. Cullen 70, passed away at his home, where he had been under the care of his loving family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
He was born November 13, 1953 in Alexandria Bay, NY, son of Robert R. and Molly B. Plantz Cullen.
Tony graduated from Alexandria Central High School in 1972 where he was active in football, hockey, and played drums for the band Midnight Riders. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and a life-time member of the Alexandria Bay Fire Department and the Wild Geese racing team.
He married Brenda K. Scott on April 22, 1972. The couple lived in Canyon City, Colorado for many years, returning to the area in 1984. Brenda passed away March 24th, 2023.
Tony worked as an Aircraft painter at Fort Drum. He also worked on small engines and boats for his dear friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing the guitar, the Denver Broncos, woodworking, the River, cracking jokes, and his Genesee Light.
Tony is survived by two daughters, Katrina Cullen-Ellis, Edgewater, FL and Roberta Cullen, Watertown, NY along with two sons, Scott (Kristine) Cullen, Edgewater, FL, and Charles (Kimet) Cullen, New Smyrna Beach, FL, two sisters, Linda (James) Reynolds and Molly (Larry) Brier, both of Redwood, NY and a brother, Reggie Cullen, of Carthage, NY, 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Brenda, he was predeceased by his father, his mother, and an infant son, Anthony Cullen.
A celebration of life will be held for both Tony and Brenda to celebrate their 52nd wedding anniversary and them being together once again on April 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM EST at the Alexandria Bay Fire Hall.
