Anne L. Weller

Anne L. Weller, 88, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.

She was born July 10, 1936, in Gouverneur, NY, to Frederick Q. and Helen M. (Shippee) Drumb. She graduated from Gouverneur High School and later from Jefferson Community College, with an associate’s degree in Lab Technology.

She held several professional jobs in the area.

She married Frederick J. Weller on April 15, 1955, in Gouverneur, NY. Mr. Weller passed away on July 22, 2016.

Anne was active with the Thousand Islands Thrift Store, the Red Hats, the Plessis Ladies Home Bureau, and was a longtime member of the Alexandria Bay United Methodist Church, on whose behalf she traveled on several mission trips.

She is survived by her son Scott, of Plessis and six daughters — Laura (Jeff) Jacoby, Brookline, MA; Barbara Carle, Johnson City, NY; Kelly (Gene) Halpin, Plessis; Karen Saamer, Vestal, NY; Mary Lyn (Edgar) Barros, Fort Lauderdale, FL; and Carrie Zortman (Danny Godan) Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren and by her sisters, Ruth McAllister, Carthage and Lois Steele, Spragueville, NY.

Besides her husband, Fred, she was predeceased by a brother, Donald Drumb and three sisters, Betty Benjamin, Doris Geer and Alice Phelps.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 6th at 2pm, at the Alexandria Bay United Methodist Church.
