Albert L. Weller

Albert L. “Al” Weller, 90, passed away Sunday morning, at his home.

He was born November 20, 1933, in the Town of Clayton, son of Frederick and Bethel Decker Weller.

He attended a one room schoolhouse on Deferno Road in Clayton, Clayton Central School and after his family moved to Alexandria Bay, graduated from Alexandria Central High School.

He proudly served as a medic in the US Army and then in the reserves, for a total of 8 years, retiring as a Sergeant.

He married Delores Andress on November 14, 1959, at the Reformed Church of the Thousand Isles, in Alexandria Bay.

Al worked for over 35 years for Crowley Foods, in LaFargeville. He also worked for Grove Cemetery, LaFargeville for six years.

He was a member and lay leader for the LaFargeville United Methodist Church for over 25 years, where he and his wife Delores, also served and janitor and groundskeepers.

Besides his wife Delores, he is survived by a son, Albert D. (Gale) Weller, Liverpool, NY and a daughter, Debbie S. (Andy) Capone, Watertown, NY, a brother, Morris “Skip” (Beverly) Weller, Redwood, NY, 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frederick and Howard Weller.

Calling hours will be held Monday, November 4th, from 1-3 pm, at the Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay with a memorial service beginning at 3pm, with military honors.
