One of the most genuine sweet souls ever known. Always a gentleman. Willing to help anyone who needed a hand. I was blessed to have known first, his dad, Louis. He was the principal at Alex. Bay throughout my school years and the best one they’ve had as of yet. I’m so sorry for your loss Mr. Amato. You raised a great man. I know he thought the world of you, as do I. I know you are proud of him and all that he represented. He will be missed terribly by so many. He made friends wherever he went. The Angels are in for a special treat that’s for sure. ?. Rest In Peace Buddy. With lots of love.

Sincerely, One of your many friends.

So sorry for the loss of your beloved Steve. I remember him from my days as Postmaster in Theresa. He always had a smile on his face, he made everyone feel good and he laughed a lot. Steve was a genuine person and he cared. My sincere sympathy to the Amato family in their time of sadness. Rest assured Steve has punched his ticket to the other side and is wrapped in heavens blanket.❤️?

To the entire Amato family and extended family and friends,
I knew Steve “Reno”, not well. But EVERYONE knew Reno I don’t think he ever met a stranger. He was that kind of guy. He always made me feel very welcome no matter where we were, hanging with friends, out on the town, or if he was working behind the bar. He had a good heart and a kind soul. I’ve known his dad since my days at ACS many moons ago, his mom, and his sister Tara, as well as many of his extended family. My heart hurts for everyone. Fly high my friend. Heaven gained a special angel in you Reno. Love and Light to all.

Steve and I went way back, pre-7th grade as sport opponents (anything Philly vs Theresa), then teammates at IRC, classmates and friends. I have nothing but fond memories of him. He always made me laugh and quite often got me in trouble in 7th grade Social Studies class with Mr. Passino. My condolences to his family, God speed Reno!

Growing up just down the street from Steve, we spent our childhood years running around the neighborhood being …well… “childish.” He was great fun and indeed had this unique, free-spirited genuineness about him. Oddly, some of my earliest memories revolve around his dad taking us to Indian River High School so we could run around like idiots while his father refereed a football game. As adulthood set in, we lost touch. I tried a few times to re-connect but just couldn’t align the stars – now I sincerely regret not pressing the issue harder — my heart is heavy. It’s as if a part of my life story has been stripped away, knowing the countless hours we spent together growing up in the same small town, on the same small street. So long my childhood friend and thank you for the fond memories. To his immediate family members, Mr. and Mrs. Amato, Lou, Kim and Tara, I pray you will be upheld during this time of grief and that healing comes quickly as you make your way through the valley. Sincerely, Mike

Reno…You were a friend to me and a mentor once I got behind the bar with you. You taught me a lot about bartending, but more about being entertaining for the crowd and friendly to everyone who came through the door. I am saddened by your passing and my heart goes out to your family and all of your other friends…your many, many friends. I will not forget the laughs and the advice you gave me when I was just a rookie. I still use the things I learned from you even when I do not realize it. I will miss running into you here and there from time to time as I always did. You were always a friendly face and a reason to stay longer when the hours grew late and the crowd grew thin. Pour one for the angels buddy…you’ve earned the peace you have now.

All my condolences to the Amato family during this difficult and very sad time.

To all the Amato family my condolences to all of you in this time of such great loss. Steven was one of the best friends I had and was always there to help or just to listen. Knowing Steven over the years, you knew how important family and friends where to him. He always had a smile on his face and was always the life of any party. Even though I didn’t speak with him often in the last few years, he was never far from thought and prayers during his trying times. If anything helps know how deeply he loved and cherished all of you. He always spoke so highly of each and everyone of his family, from his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews and his pride and joy his children and grandchildren. He is one of the best people I know and is going to be sorely missed but at least he is at peace and free of the pain now.

I still smile when I remember things that happened when I coached Steve on the J.V. football team. I apologize for not paying my respects in person but I will be having surgery in Syracuse May 10.

My prayers go out to the family at this difficult time. Our loving God has promised to do away with sickness, suffering, and death here on the earth in the near future. (Psalms 37:9-11; Isaiah 33:24; John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15; Revelation 21:3-5) God understands what you are feeling and promises to be “close to the brokenhearted” and “saves those crushed in spirit”. (Psalms 34:18) Please know that your family will be in my prayers!
